Depending where you are coming from your Sat Nav my direct you via Qurrobolong which is a beautiful country drive straight to Millfield from Sydney If you need some supplies or are driving when it's dark (it's very bendy in some parts) we suggest to put Cessnock in your navigation as you can then shop in the town there before heading out to Millfield.
For a longer drive home head out via the historic town of Wollombi.
You will be advised of the alarm code. On entry to the property please enter the code and then press 'Stay' to disable the alarm. When exiting the property enter the code and press 'Away' to enable the alarm.
Some networks particularly Vodafone have no signal in the area. On your settings set your phone to 'Wi-fi Calling' and you will be able to dial out and receive calls via the wi-fi.
The wifi login and password can be found on the desktop computer in the study. Also there you will find the PC login. Please use the PC to access the House Manual
Please consider our neighbours. Noise carries especially in the night and we want to keep good relationships with our neighbours as they look out for us. Minimal noise after 10pm. please.
Check out is strictly 10am unless prior arranged. We would appreciate your help in leaving the property clean and tidy and just as you found it. Click the icon above for check out instructions or alternatively at the property there are clear instructions for checkout.
Bin night for Jasmine Lodge is Thursday night for Friday morning collection. Please place bins on the side of the grass verge approx. 1m apart. Recycling/green bins alternate with the red bin. For example Thursday 10 September 2020 is red bin and Green bin night. Following week would be red bin and yellow bin.
Strictly no smoking inside the house. Additional fees will be added if we need to clean the interior or pick up cigarette butts from outside the home. Thank you for your understanding.
About Jasmine Lodge
Jasmine Lodge is approx. 2.5 years old and is a beautiful modern property sitting on just over 1 acre. It has amazing mountain views where you will see stunning sunsets. The gardens are landscaped to a high quality with numerous native plants attracting many beautiful birds and bees. There are several fruit trees and a Passion fruit vin on the fence line, feel free to take any fruit when on the trees or vine. There are also vegetable containers on one side of the shed currently with Coriander, Mint, Parsley, Dill. Bok Choy and tomatoes are starting to grow.
We use August smart locks on the home, you will receive an email shortly after your booking is confirmed with your personal entry code to the house. If you don't receive the code please reach out to us prior to your stay.Any issues getting into the house just call us and we can either open the door remotely (upon verification of who you are) or we have a physical key in a lockbox.

Note: the code will only work for your scheduled stay, if you are leaving at 10am and you go to the car at 10:05am the code won't let you back in.
For your safety we have a Ring Video Doorbell installed at the entrance to the property.
NOTE: we can also remotely connect to the camera on the ring doorbell. If you can’t get in the home for any reason then you can also talk to us via the doorbell camera.
Both properties have video cameras external to the property, there are no cameras inside the building. Note we respect your privacy and these are in place as the properties can be left vacant for a week or so at a time and it's an important measure against break-ins as well as use of the alarm

SONOS has been installed in 5 places in the house:
You can use your mobile to cast using your regular music app from your phone to the Sonos system. Also, see this video on how to cast to the Sonos system from your mobile.
Jasmine lodge has a PC in the study, select the guest user, and enjoy is the password. The password is on the PC base.
All TVs use Amazon Firesticks that come preinstalled with Netflix, Amazon Prime, Stan, Freeview apps and Youtube to name a few. You just need to login using your account and logout at the end of your stay.
Just press the power button on the remote and then the main page should load with all the login choices to the streaming sites.
There is an Android tablet left in the study for your use. This is handy to look up the house manual and to set up music on the SONOS system. Please return the table to the study and leave it on charge for the next guest.
If you're into tech we use the following, August Smartlocks and keypads, Ring Doorbells, Hassio home automation server running on a Raspberry pi, Lifx lights, Various automated sockets to turn on lamps, Alexa, WIZ Bluetooth speaker light combos in Jasmine Cottage, Sonos in Jasmine Lodge. Wanting to add some automation to your home, msg me and i will give you some advice.
In Jasmine Lodge, there are many unique artworks that are original or limited edition. From the Robert Kerr oil painting above the fireplace to the original beautiful lady outside the master bedroom with her own spotlight that makes her reflect in the window opposite. Please enjoy :-)
Alexa is on the kitchen bench for your use. Most people will know what to do but for those not familiar you can say "Alexa what's the weather forecast today....." ......"Alexa give me a recipe for BBQ ribs..." you can ask anything or ask to play a quiz which can be fun or say "Alexa play Elvis, Coldpaly, Beyonce...." etc etc.
The ducted air panel is on the wall between the media/4th bedroom and the hallway to the bedrooms. You can zone the heat/aircon to three places:
Please only choose the rooms you are into heat as it’s a waste of energy to heat the bedrooms all night if you’re only in the lounge area.
Jasmine Lodge has the following bedding configurations:
1. Master bedroom with King Bed, ensuite (with fill bath and shower and toilet with door) and walk in wardrobe. (2 people)
2, Bedroom 2 - Queen bed in the room with built in wardrobes. (2 people)
3. Bedroom 3 - 2 King Single beds in a beautiful large room with separate private small terrance area with seats and a table. (2 people)
4. Bedroom 4 - Media room/Bedroom with Queen sofa bed with luxury Gel mattress. Can be made up prior or we can leave the bedding so you can use the sofa bed after watching a movie. (2 people)
5. Pull out bed (larger than a single) currently in master wardrobe with luxury Gel mattress. This can be moved to any room. (1 person)
6.Blue sofa bed in the study (Note: no door on this room) , this bed is only suitable for a child or smaller adult. (1 person)
The sofa bed int he 4th bedroom/media can be made up if requested or we can just leave the linen and pillows. The pull out bed and sofa bed in the study we leave the bedding and just ask if your could make it up which takes a couple of minutes.
A baby/travel cot is located in one of the bedroom wardrobes. Please fold it back up and return to the same location.
Note: you need to provide your own linen/pillow for travel cots.
The kitchen is fully equipped, like a home from home, and caters for up to 10 people. Checkout all the cupboards for all sorts of kitchen equipment/supplies.....please to put everything back int he cupboard you took it from. If we are missing anything please let us know, we appreciate feedback.
Toaster, kettle, sandwich maker and blender are provided in the cupboard in the Butler's Panty where you will find the kettle, coffee machine and toaster.
Our coffee machine is an Aldi EXPRESSI, there are approximately 10 pods provided. If you want more pods you can go to any Aldi store and pick some up.
The nearest Aldi store is located in Cessnock
Additionally a milk frother is also provided.
The fridge contains an ice maker in the freezer draw. Also please remember to take anything left in the fridge or freezer.
Washer and Dryer
The laundry has washing powder provided. The machines are straightforward to use. If you haven't used a front loader be warned you must wait for the cycle to finish before you can open it.
Dishwasher tablets are provided under the sink. Please remember to stack the dishwasher and turn it on before you leave the property. Thank you.
The Lodge has an electric oven and a large gas cooktop. for the oven turn the top dial to select your cooking style, e.g, grill, fan oven, grill oven etc etc . Please ensure you switch it off at the end of cooking. For the gas cooktop, it's pretty simple. When you have finished using it we'd appreciate if you could give it a wipe down. The cleaners will clean it but every little helps speed up their time cleaning.
The pool is a mineral pool which is one of the softest on the skin and hair with no nasty chlorine smells or sore eyes. It's really beautiful with a sitting 'shelf' so you can sit and enjoy the sunset or just enjoy the hot balmy days. Please note, no glass in the pool area and plastic tumblers and wine 'glasses; are provided in the kitchen so absolutely enjoy a wine or a beer there without the glass.
Please do not touch the pool equipment. There is a light for the pool and you will see a switch for this outside that is labeled. Please turn it off when you are no longer outside.
NOTE: we do not provide pool towels so please bring your own. If you do forget there is Big W, Target and Best & Less in Cessnock only 12 min drive away and all have cheap beach towels.
For the shorter stays 3 rolls of toilet paper are provided, if you are a larger group or staying for a longer time we suggest you bring along a few more rolls
For longer stays, if you would like us to arrange for the cleaners to come in and freshen the home up let us know, they can change the bed linen, towels and spruce things up. Cost dependant on number of occupants.
Linen
All bedding except travel cot is provided along with doona’s, throws, pillow and mattress protectors. Bed linen is hotel quality.
Towels, facecloths are also provided for each guest registered. Tea towels are also provided
Note: please bring your own towels for the pool if you intend to swim.
The property has several fruit trees if you're lucky enough to be there when they are in season feel free to help yourself. Herbs and some other Veg is currently growing along the side of the shed. Help yourself to fresh Dill, Coriander and Mint
Shower gel, shampoo and conditioner are provided.
Hand Sanitiser is provided on entry.
To be honest the blinds are a pain in the butt!!!! There are several remote.....s in the Sunroom there are 4, Kitchen 1 and pool lounge 2. All the remotes have the numbers of the blinds on them that correspond with the numbers on the blinds for that room. The only blinds we really use are those in the Sunroom as that's where is gets the hottest. If you get stuck let us know.
Jasmine Lodge has a dyson stick vacuum in the laundry, please return to the charging cradle if you use it. Note the battery will only run for approx 15mins if in the 'Boost' mode, on the normal mode it's about 30 mins. If you find it is turning off frequently then you may need to give it a clean, see here. It's long but just fast forward and you will get the idea.
A selection of games are provided in study, Monopoly, Jenga, Scrabble, Poker set and Cards plus a few other little games. In the laundry there is a cricket set and French Boules or set to play in the garden. Also, you can ask 'Alexa' to play a quiz and you can play with several people which is awesome fun!
The entrance hall and lounge lamps are automated to come on before sunset and off at 11am. Please don't turn them off at the socket or plugs. If you do want them off you can go to the PC and turn them off on there with a click of a button.
There are 2 hairdryers, one in the ensuite and the other in the main bathroom.
Simply ask alexa what the weather will be today or tomorrow.

The sunroom is a beautiful place to sit whether it be in the morning or afternoon. There is a table for 8 people and a large lounge area there. There are cafe blinds you can open when it's warm. At the bottom of the blinds on both ends there are clips that slide to open them. They are marked but labels. Please be gentle with them when opening.
Once the Cafe blinds are opened there are fly screens that fold back, these are quote delicate so please be careful. Also, when they are closed it's hard to see they are there and easy to try to walk through them!!!!
The BBQ is gas, please ensure you leave the BBQ clean once you have finished as the cleaners don’t clean the BBQ. Also return the BBQ utensils to the drawer underneath .Ensure to turn off the gas bottle. BBQ cleaning wipes are provided in the drawer under the BBQ.
Fire wood is available, note in cold winter months this may run out but we do our best, the general store sells firewood for $20 a bag. You should bring a few fire starter.
The Firepit is available for you to use, there will be wood at the back of the shed. Firelighters and lighters are in the laundry under the sink.
Note you may need fire starters and kindling. Please don't use too much wood and please let it burn down. It's important to ensure the coals are put out when you retire back in the house as it represents a fire danger.
When you have finished using the fire pt and all has cooled please use the spade provided and just put the left over wood into the silver bin provided there. Please ensure that the fire of out and there are no embers still burning. Thank you.
NOTE: you must observe all fire warnings before lighting the fire pit.
Also, if it has been raining heavily the fire pit may be filled with water as it is set into the ground as the ground in this area is clay so the water takes a while to absorb.
A Fire blanket and fire extinguisher is provided in the laundry.
First Aid kit is provided in the laundry, if you use something please let us know so we can maintain the inventory within the kit for future guests.

Uber is very hit and miss but worth trying your luck with the app
There are buses between Millfield and Cessnock and during concert times Rover Coaches picks up from the Millfield General store just down the road.
Many people do self drive tours in the Hunter, there are over 150 wineries so an awful lot to see and it's spread out over several kilometres. It's a beautiful drive if you do want to be designated driver.
We can absolutely recommend organised tours, we have several companies that we can recommend that we have personally used. Just reach out if you want us to share details.
There are several options, drive, taxi's, or the preferred option is book with Rover Bus service. Closes pick up is at the Millfield General Store which is 1 minute drive or 10 minutes walk.
There are heaps of great casual eating places......let us start with....
1. Millfield General Store on Wollombi Rd, 1 minute drive, 10 min walk. The have fantastic coffee, cakes, lunches and dinners. Friday they have dinner specials which are really good and so reasonably priced. The cakes are amazing here!!!!!!!
2. Paxton and Ettalong Pubs 6-7 mins drive.
3.Bellbird Workers Club and Bellbird Hotel - 6mins drive
4. Cessnock Leagues Club - 12mins drive - great club food and very cheap
5. Potters Brewery - 15mins drive big pub with a good choice of food.

The closest Pubs are the Paxton Hotel and Ellalong Hotel. Other weekend favourites for a drive are Potter's Brewery and Harrigan's Irish pub in Pokolbin
There are so many things you can do in the area other than go to wineries. There are Segway Tours, Hot Air Balloons, Spas, Helicopter flights, the Zoo, two great Golf Courses, Hunter Valley Gardens, the historic town of Wollombi and surrounding historic towns, the beaches of Newcastle only 30mins away. Bush walking, bike riding, mountain bike riding, concerts, long lunches.......the list goes on. Let us know if there are any particular activities you are interested in.
